Welcome to

First Hands On Education & Training

Welcome, My name is Maddy and I am the co-founder of First Hands on.
I am an Emergency Nurse, Qualified Paramedic with over a decade of critical care experience and a Mumma of two based on the South Coast NSW.

I originally created First Hands On to empower, educate and support new mums and caregivers of our most precious little ones during those unexpected and crucial moments in life.

My goal is to help you care with confidence — taking you from feeling anxious, helpless and unprepared to EMPOWERED, CONFIDENT and RESOURCEFUL when you are the first hands on in an emergency.

Throughout my career, both in hospital and on road, I’ve attended countless emergency situations where even the smallest amount of first aid knowledge could have made the biggest difference to the outcome. The reality is, injuries and emergencies can happen to anyone — and those first 10 minutes are often critical in shaping what happens next.

That’s why I want to help fill your toolkit with practical skills and knowledge you can use at home, in the workplace, or out in the community until professional help arrives.

I’ve always known I wanted to create something meaningful by sharing my knowledge and experience, and this journey has already been incredibly fulfilling. In 2026, I joined forces with Jess, who has been an incredible asset to our business as we expanded into accredited First Aid and CPR training for both public courses and private groups.

Together, we can help ensure more people have the confidence and skills to step up and provide care when it matters most. Join us in this important mission

Big Ideas,
Real Impact.

Hi, I’m Jess, the co‑founder of First Hands on.

I am a PDHPE Teacher with over 15 years of experience, a qualified sports first aider/trainer, and a passionate educator who has worked across a range of sports and community settings.

My career has been built around empowering young people with the knowledge, confidence and practical skills they need to stay safe, active, healthy, educated and supported. Whether in the classroom, on the sporting field, or within community programs, I’ve seen firsthand how vital it is for everyday people to  have the knowledge and understand the basics of first aid and emergency response.

Over my years working in schools, sporting environments and community programs, I began to see a real need for industry‑specific, relatable and practical first aid training. Every workplace, club and organisation faces different risks, routines and responsibilities, and I felt strongly that training should reflect those realities. I wanted to offer something more tailored, something that spoke directly to the environments people work in every day. By shaping our courses to suit each industry or business, we are able to make first aid feel meaningful, relevant and easy to apply, so participants walk away feeling confident, capable and genuinely prepared for the situations they’re most likely to face.

I’m committed to helping people feel prepared, capable and confident — whether they’re caring for little ones, supervising a team, working onsite, or simply wanting to be ready when it matters most.

Joining together and combining our knowledge and experience for First Hands on felt like a natural next step. Together, Maddy and I are proud to deliver training that is practical, relevant, supportive and genuinely life‑changing. We’re here to help you become the first hands on when it counts.
